Description
Incom Corporation built the Y-4 around a heat-shielded armored hull, powerful drives, and folding assault ramps. A standard military load carries forty troops, four AT-STs, and several light vehicles, with laser cannon and concussion-missile armament providing cover during deployment. The class entered Imperial service shortly before Incom was nationalized. Although procurement remained limited, Navy transport units and specialized ground formations retain the type for rapid insertion, supply, and evacuation missions.
Civilian Y-4 Transport
An unarmed commercial Y-4 used for courier, maintenance, and supply work.
The civilian configuration removes the military model's weaponry and armor plating. Reduced performance is offset by lower acquisition and operating costs, while the hyperdrive and substantial internal capacity make the vessel useful as a courier, maintenance ship, or regional supply transport.
